gLite ...

(pronounced "gee-lite") is the next generation middleware for grid computing. Born from the collaborative efforts of more than 80 people in 12 different academic and industrial research centers as part of the EGEE Project, gLite provides a framework for building grid applications tapping into the power of distributed computing and storage resources across the Internet.

gLite 3.1 has been retired and gLite 3.2 is in the process of being retired, with only a few services receiving security updates and the glite-VOBOX receiving standard updates.

For more information, please check the support in gLite 3.1 and in gLite 3.2. Check the EMI web pages for new functionality of the gLite middleware.
